Hexagon manufactures 3 dimensional industrial mixer / blenders, called the ALPHIE, which range in sizes from 3 liters onwards, using its patented (applied for) technology.

Product Description

The motion of the ALPHIE is based on the kinematic Inversion Principle. This is a complex, highly-ordered, 3-dimensional motion producing mixing results that are far superior to those obtainable with techniques used for barrel mixers, v-blenders, double cone blenders or ribbon mixers, which have segregation zones and longer mixing and cleaning times. The unusual, 3-dimentional mixing motion quickly and efficiently produces a homogeneous substance regardless of specific weight of the substances being mixed. This makes it an ideal powder blender or liquid mixer.

The charging barrel is driven by main drive shaft. The barrel body carries
on repeated parallel movement, rotation, rolling and other complex movements so that different materials reach uniform mixing.

The 3D mixing motion has the form of a double lemniscate, and is illustrated here. Each lemniscate consists in a large outer node turning into a tight inner node. The resulting mixing action is fast, efficient, and yet extremely gentle.

The mixing barrel of the machine makes multi-direction movement – no centrifugal force. There is neither gravity segregation nor layer division or gathering for materials. Remarkable weight rate for each constituent and high mixing rate make it an ideal product in market.

One advantage of this form of motion is the high level of space utilization within the container. In some cases as much as 98% of the container volume can be used. Look at the various applications this mixer can cater to.

Customisation

The Alphie can be purchased for use with either a fixed or removable container. Our optional Barrel clamping system can hold in place any container that will fit inside the barrel. Your container can be any shape: round, square, rectangle, hexagon or octagon shaped.
